Rock and Romance Fashion Show, Concert and Benefit
No, it wasn’t fashion week. No, it wasn’t just another club fashion show. It was a mix of the traditional runway and the energy of the streets. This year, Haus of “M” in cooperation with Media Bella utilized Siren Studios, on Orange, utilized by the industry for the covers of the likes of ELLE, VOGUE AND MARIE CLAIRE. It kept an “orange” theme with its decor and scents! The entire place had a hint of orange, which was in tune with the light and fun energy that was brewing. (www.sirenstudios.com)

The night started off with the hustle and bustle backstage. The show featured over 25 models, coordinated by Brand Birtwistle-show extraordinaire(facebook.com/theonlybrand). The calm came, however when Evan Patlian (http://twitter.com/epatlian12) brought it all together, assistang Brand for Haus of M. Patlian has been producing shows with Birtwistle for Haus of “M”, continuously successful! This might be a great pair!

One model featured was Chandler Manness, celebrity model from the notorious Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency and currently in 90210, seen here wearing a “loved by “M”‘ tee, as he waits for hair and makeup. Ms. Susie Lynn (805-216-8855) and Mr. Joey Lotrero (J-Lo) (714-476-2849), Hair and Makeup Artists for the stars worked their magic on the models as well as the designers and talent that nite.

Johanna Mesa, for MTV, received a little pampering. Speaking of pampering, there were 2 masseuse stations provided backstage for the production team and talent which provided a bit of relief before the show started. What a great setup!

Two people who didn’t get to enjoy such amenities were Gabe De Dios(http://twitter.com/gaybydedios) and Adrian Lubanski, celebrity stylists in charge of making the lines extra hot! They styled most of the lines, with funky fedoras, bangles and jewels you would never find anywhere else! Samantha Richelle(http://twitter.com/samrichelle), a celebrity in her own right, rocked out Mthemovement line with sleek touches of finesse. They all did a superb job! Brutal Geil!!! as the Germans say!

Johanna Mesa of MTV (www.johannastyle.com) made it over to the red carpet around 8 p.m., in which she greeted the likes of such: Haus of M distributors from Germany (Andreas and Albert Thurmayr- (www.hausofm-germany.de) and Singapore (Ruhsaan Rahman). Following the VIP, were the celebs. Many showed through: Justin Baldoni (Heroes), Melissa Ordway (Melrose Place), Antoinette Taus (Philippine Actress/Singer)(http://twitter.com/AntoinetteTaus), Rick Ross, Bryan Clay (Olympian Triathlete), Delious Kennedy (Grammy Award Winning - All Four One) amongst others.

As soon as the celebs were seated, the show started promptly at 9 with several striking performances. The highlights were Fanny Pack from America’s Best Dance Crew, whom peformed for almost 20 minutes straight!-way to go!Soon after the emcee announced the beginning of the show. The atmosphere was energized! It was refreshing to see a room full of people who were involved in the show.

The first line was WNK, a sports savvy men and women’s line dolled up for the nite. Designer of the line is Quan Ning. The line was made up of separates like striped off the shoulder tops for women matched up with fancy leggings and hot stilettos! The men were wearing hipster capri shorts with a standard two-for top, accented with a fedora and loafers. The looks were young, hip and very now, but individually very wearable for everyone! They kept a red/black/white color story for their Spring line with an Amy Winehouse-esque look. Very fun and very fitting. (www.wnkwear.com)

The second in the lineup was Cassida, designed by Michael Quester (www.cassidashop.com). This contemporary line for men and women focused on rockstar tees. This line came all the way from Austria for the “L.A.” experience!!!!! They had a nicer, kinder Rock look promoting philosophies of the east in their art work. The tees were paired up with fishnet stockings and leggings with a rock look a la “pam”. They started the line with Lady GaGa’s “Bad Romance” which got the crowd going.

The third line was Engineered by Remy, by Remy Hou. This also is a men’s and women’s line but with more structure. The line consisted of collared shirtings and fitted blouses with suspenders and sleek slacks. The models walked a bit more methodically and serious. It had a mission impossible flair with some engineered leather jackets with fur accents that smoothed out the tone. The men in the crowd particularly liked this line.

The fourth line was Philthy Ragz, designed by Jaynelle. This line is also in store in L.A. carrying women’s easy but sophisticated pieces. They had modal jumpers, leopard printed jersey dresses and a striking royal blue number with a very deep v neckline. Simply hot!

The line closing the show was M the movement by Haus of “M”. This line, as usual sported eco friendly blends stylish separates for men and women. The new pieces for spring seemed to be slicked zip front shirt jackets and a very stylish, retro off the shoulder top M collaborated with Johanna. It came in several colors and lengths. The dress seemed to be the audience favorite, styled with a sailor hat and baubles a la Chanel.
The Show was followed by a hot dance party with DJ Tommy T!!(http://twitter.com/TomTaus) All in all, this was a great event. Not just a show, but a fully entertaining event-truly Haus of “M” style.
