Mode Israel Designers shine at Downtown Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Sponsored by the Israeli Consulate, local Israeli designers participated for the first time in this year’s Los Angeles Fashion Week. Entitled as Mode of Israel, seven talented designers debuted their collection to the press, public and fashion industry. Here are a few images from that event, from Kedem Sasson, Bracha Bar-on, Alembika, Yosef Peretz, Betka, Shai Shalom. The night kicked off with a high octane performance from an Israeli Electro band, Terry Poison.

Maria Bello to Receive ‘The Los Angeles Spirit Award For Style And Substance’

Los Angeles, CA - Actress Maria Bello will receive The Los Angeles Spirit Award For Style and Substance at ‘Elizabeth Mason, The Paper Bag Princess Vintage Couture Celebrates Valentino, The Last Emperor‘, for the closing night gala runway show for Downtown LA Fashion Week, taking place at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA on Thursday, October 15.


Bello, who is currently in production on the Adam Sandler comedy “Lake House” opposite Kevin James and co-starring Chris Rock and Salma Hayak and the John Wells drama “The Company Men” co-starring Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones, will receive the prestigious award for her philanthropic work as well as her support of Los Angeles based fashion designers.

The runway show produced by Elizabeth Mason, author, collector and connoisseur of exceptional vintage fashion, celebrates the early work of Valentino and is inspired by the documentary Valentino, the Last Emperor. The visually spectacular show will be accented with ‘Valentino Red’ accoutrements from Mason’s own contemporary couture design collection, a selection of which will also be on display prior to the show during a meet and greet with the designer.
